COLLEGE CLUBS NEED MORE FUNDING FROM THEIR SCHOOLS

ACA Creates Supporting Documents and Videos to Help College Bass Clubs

College bass fishing is a sport that continues to grow at a rapid rate.  Just 15 years ago, bass fishing programs at the collegiate level hardly existed. Fast forward to today and collegiate bass fishing has exploded and now features three major tournament trails: The Association of Collegiate Anglers’ Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series, the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series presented by Bass Pro Shops, and the FLW Yeti College Fishing Series.   These series provide young anglers with a great platform to compete, learn new things, and grow as professionals in the industry however to compete at top levels all programs need more funding.

With more anglers competing at the collegiate level than ever before, the opportunities available for schools of all sizes to get more awareness, more media coverage – nationally and regionally as well as more students enrolled at their school because of a successful bass fishing club.

Getting started and keeping a fishing club in good shape is not as easy as just having an advisor and a few boats.   From school waivers, to insurance policies, travel, lodging and other misc. expenses there is a long list of items that need to be taken care of before signing up for a tournament.

The ACA and Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series want to make this process as quick and easy as possible for schools and anglers to become involved and show their school what college fishing can do.   We’ve created a video and a presentation that college anglers can show their school in an effort to educate those in the administration on the benefits of providing funding to their team.
