San Antonio, TX (March 1, 2021) – The Association of Collegiate Anglers announces a renewed partnership for the 15th year in a row with Berkley for the 2021 season of the Collegiate Bass Fishing Series. Berkley has also long been the presenting sponsor of the Bass Pro Shops Big Bass Bash presented by Berkley, and this will continue its support for that upcoming event set to take place March 13-14, 2021 on Kentucky Lake. Along with that, the ACA will continue to work with Berkley to promote the Berkley and Abu Garcia Student Angler Program.
“Collegiate bass fishing offers junior anglers a pathway to continue their love of fishing while pursuing an education,” said Berkley Senior Vice President of Marketing, Jon Schlosser. “These anglers will be the faces of our sport in the future which is why we are thrilled to be able to continue our partnership with the Association of Collegiate Anglers. Beyond just our partnership, the Berkley team continues to be dedicated to supporting anglers with baits that are scientifically proven to help them catch more fish.”
The Bass Pro Shops Big Bass Bash presented by Berkley has long been one of the most anticipated events of the season out on the Collegiate Bass Fishing Series. College fishing’s top anglers travel from all across the country to compete in this two-day big bass format event. First introduced at the 2019 installment of this event, anglers are permitted to use only Berkley baits on day two of competition. This added twist has been a great success, as the winning fish each of the past two years has been caught on the Berkley only day.
“Working with Berkley to promote the Bass Pro Shops Big Bass Bash presented by Berkley is always a lot of fun. We all look forward to getting a new season rolling, and this is a great event for the anglers,” said Wade Middleton, Director of the Association of Collegiate Anglers and CarecoTV President. “We are also looking forward to working very closely with Berkley at the 2021 Championship this year on Lake Murray. Lake Murray is located near the Berkley headquarters in Columbia, SC.”
Anglers competing in the College Series are eligible to sign up for the Berkley and Abu Garcia Student Angler Program. This program provides anglers unique opportunities such as mentorships with Berkley and Abu Garcia professional anglers and a premier product discount program.
