18th Place – Clemson University

SAN ANTONIO, TX (4/29/2020) – Today’s feature will highlight the 18th ranked team in the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia, Clemson University.  Having fished two out of three Association of Collegiate Anglers major events this season, Clemson has earned a total of 5,545 points.  Though they are not within striking distance of the Top 5, the team is looking forward to the upcoming Championship event on Pickwick Lake.

“We are extremely proud to be ranked in the Top 25 going into the Championship.  We are looking forward to finishing the year strong, and getting back in the groove of tournament fishing at Pickwick in May,” said Liam West, a senior at  Clemson University.

Clemson regularly makes the trip to Pickwick each year for the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops.  Last year, the school did not have a team finish inside of the Top 100 following the conclusion of Day 2 weigh-in.  If they hope to maintain or even improve their place in the standings, Clemson will need to have two teams finish inside of the Top 100.

That Top 125 mark is very important at the year-end Championship.  Schools will earn points for each of their highest two finishing teams inside of the Top 125.  It will likely take an average of 10-12 pounds each day to be safely inside that mark.  Continue to check back to our website daily as we highlight the Top 25 teams in the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia.  Tomorrow we will take a look at the 17th ranked University of North Alabama.
