BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship Rescheduled for June 9-11
SAN ANTONIO, TX (4/30/2020) – The Association of Collegiate Anglers announces the decision to move the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops on Pickwick Lake to June 9th-11th of 2020. This decision is based on discussions with the city of Florence, sponsors, universities, anglers, and coaches to help provide the best guidance to host the event. More information and further details about how the event will be conducted are included below and will also be provided directly to the anglers.
Official practice for the 2020 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops will begin on Saturday, June 6th and run until 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 9th. Official registration for the event will take place from 11 AM – 6 PM on Tuesday at McFarland Park, providing an ample amount of time for everyone to sign-up in a timely manner and adhere to social distancing measures. For more information regarding the week’s schedule and tournament rules, click here.
Tournament competition will take place on June 10th-11th. Upon arriving at the park each morning, strict social distancing measures will be put in order. The efforts will include avoiding gatherings in one area, staggering boat flights to create space between all competitors, additional support staff, and weigh in tubs. The immediate weigh-in site will be accessible only to competitors and event staff. A specific area will be taped off to restrict access to the weigh-in tubs and tournament stage. All spectators, including coaches, parents, on-lookers, and fellow teammates, will be required to remain outside of this boundary.
Here is a look at the qualification criteria for this year’s Championship event:
– All teams ranked in the Top 25 for School of the Year qualify for 4 boats for competition.
– All other schools are guaranteed to send 3 boats for competition
Qualifying anglers must be in good standing with their school & club. Seniors who graduated in December of 2019 or May of 2020 will be allowed to compete providing the school and club allows them. In the event that your school has more than 4 boats that would like to complete in the Championship, we encourage those extra teams to sign up separately through the Wild Card Registration. In the event that Wild Card slots are needed, a drawing will be conducted on June 2nd.
We look forward to seeing everyone at Pickwick Lake in Florence, AL for the 2020 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops. If you need any more information regarding the event, contact email@example.com
