Yamaha Outboards Extends Support of College Fishing to 16 Straight Seasons

San Antonio, TX (January 15 , 2021) – The Association of Collegiate Anglers (ACA), along with the Collegiate Bass Fishing Series, is proud to announce their renewed partnership with Yamaha Outboards. The 2021 season will mark the 16th straight year in which Yamaha Outboards has supported anglers competing in ACA ran events. The 2021 partnership will include the annual Yamaha Angler Appreciation Night at the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship in May 2021, Yamaha Power Pay Contingency Program, as well as extensive promotion of Yamaha Marine products.

“These Collegiate Anglers are vital to the future of our industry and we will remain committed to the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series again in 2021 and will once again sanction this great trail under the Yamaha Power Pay contingency program,” said Connor Megan,Yamaha Marine Group Tournament, Sponsorship and Pro Staff Manager.

Introduced to competitive tournament anglers in late 2019, Yamaha Power Pay is a contingency program designed exclusively for tournament anglers who own, and run, a Yamaha outboard motor on their boat.  All you have to do is get registered, participate in a contingency paying tournament, and post the highest placing finish of those who have registered for the Yamaha Power Pay Program and win up to $2,000.  Yamaha Outboards paid out the tournament contingency at numerous ACA events in 2020.  Complete details can be found on the Power Pay site: yamahapowerpay.com.

“As this program has grown and strengthened over the years, it has helped bridge the gap between the Collegiate Angler and tour Professional. Thanks to series like the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series, the Collegiate Angler is more prepared than ever to take the next step in his or her angling career,” added Megan.

Collegiate anglers competing in the 2021 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship in Lake Murray, SC, will once again get to experience Yamaha Angler Appreciation Night during Championship Week. This annual event has become a favorite among college anglers, and includes spending time with top industry pros, sponsor booths, as well as the Abu Garcia Flip, Pitch, and Cast Contest!

“Yamaha has been a proud supporter of collegiate anglers since day one.  Their dedication and support of this segment of  the sport has afforded countless student anglers with the opportunity to compete and grow as young anglers,” said Wade Middleton, ACA Director and President of CarecoTV. “Entering the 16th year of this successful partnership, we look forward to another great Yamaha Angler Appreciation Event and continued support of the Yamaha Power Pay Contingency Program.”

During the 2021 season, in partnership with Yamaha Outboards, the College Series will be awarding the Yamaha Contingency Bonus Program at three events.  Those three events are: BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops, AFTCO Collegiate Bass Open, and the Bass Pro Shops Big Bass Bash presented by Berkley.  A total of $1,000 in contingencies will be available at each event, with the tournament winner or highest-finishing eligible team being awarded the prize.  Find out more about the Yamaha Contingency Bonus Program here.
