Updated Standings: Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Berkley

Defending Champion McKendree University Continues in Top Place

SAN ANTONIO, TX (March 13, 2020) –  Another week has passed and it’s time to provide the latest update to the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia.  Since the last update that awarded over 100,000 total points, only one event has occurred.  The FLW College Series event on Table Rock Lake took place last Friday, and four of the Top 10 teams in the School of the Year standings earned points.

One of the teams that benefited the most from this FLW event was McKendree University.  Coming off their first week as number one in the 2020 season, Tyler Christy & Trey Schroeder finished in 13th place to earn their school 690 points.  This extends the Bearcats lead over second-place University of Montevallo to just over 1,000 points.

The only team inside of the Top 10 to move up during this update is Drury University.  Located in nearby Springfield, MO, Table Rock Lake is almost like a home lake to the Missouri based team.  Hunter Baird & Jack Rankin put their home field knowledge to good use as they racked up 670 points for their 17th place finish.  That Top 20 by Baird & Rankin helped Drury to move up three spots to sixth overall in the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia.

Following this FLW College event at Table Rock Lake, a total of six teams moved up amongst the Top 25 in this update.  Two new teams made the jump up into the Top 25 this go around.  Georgetown College and Greenville University both earned valuable points last week to surge in the standings.  Georgetown and Greenville, who are regulars out on the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series, move into 21st & 24th respectively.  Here is a look at the other notable movers inside of the Top 25:

  • 12. University of Louisiana-Monroe (Previous Rank: 14)
  • 15. Campbellsville University (Previous Rank: 18)
  • 19. Arkansas Tech University (Previous Rank: 20)
