Teams Ranked 6th-15th in the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia

SAN ANTONIO, TX (July 10, 2025) – The Association of Collegiate Anglers is excited to publish the second article in a three-part series reviewing the Top 25 ranked teams for the 2024-25 Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia.  In this article, we will take a look at teams ranked 6^th-15^th in college fishing’s only all-encompassing National Rankings system.

6. Wabash Valley College (Pre-Season Rank: 14^th)
7. LSU-Shreveport (Pre-Season Rank: 9^th)
8. Drury University (Pre-Season Rank: 11^th)
9. Tarleton State (Pre-Season Rank: 20^th)
10. Adrian College (Pre-Season Rank: 5^th)
11. Blue Mountain Christian University (Pre-Season Rank 15^th)
12. Bethel University (Pre-Season Rank: 10^th)
13. Auburn University (Pre-Season Rank: 4^th)
14. Lander University (Pre-Season Rank: 8^th)
15. Murray State University (Pre-Season Rank: 12^th)

In this article highlighting teams ranked 6^th-15^th in the final standings for the 2024-25 Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia, nine of the 10 teams were selected in the Top 15 of the ACA’s Pre-Season Poll entering this past campaign.  Each of the four highest ranked programs in this review exceeded their pre-season ranking.

Bethel University is the lone former winner of the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia represented in this group of 10 teams.  Bethel won its only title in 2018.

11^th ranked Blue Mountain Christian University notched a major victory at an ACA double points event during the 2024-25 season.  Chandler Howell & Clayton Ellis won the Pickwick Slam at Pickwick Lake in Florence, AL.  Blue Mountain Christian also placed another team in the Top 5, as Blake Bullock & John Berry finished in 4^th.  Those two Top 5’s earned the team from Mississippi 3,470 points, the most of any school to compete in that event.

Consistency is a word that can be used to characterize many of the 10 teams in this rankings review.  Each of the teams ranked 6^th – 15^th to finish the 2024-25 season finished the previous year inside of the Top 25 as well.

Here are some notable items about various teams ranked 6^th-15^th:

-A 6^th place finish in 2024-25 is Wabash Valley College’s highest-ever year-end ranking.  The team’s previous best finish was 14^th.

-LSU-Shreveport achieves back-to-back Top 10 finishes (2024, 2025)

-Drury University has now finished in the Top 15 for six straight seasons

-Adrian College secured its 8^th straight Top 10

-Auburn University has ended the year ranked in the Top 15 for nine straight years
