Registration Opens for the 2020 AFTCO Collegiate Bass Open

SAN ANTONIO, TX (7/21/2020) –  Open registration for the 2020 AFTCO Collegiate Bass Open is now available on the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series website.  The annual event is set to take place on Lake Dardanelle in Russellville, AR  October 10-11, 2020.  This two-day, daily five-bass limit format tournament will be the second major televised event of the 2020-2021 season for the Association of Collegiate Anglers.

Situated along the Arkansas River in central Arkansas, Lake Dardanelle is one of the top bass fisheries in its region.  Year in and year out, this renowned river fishery produces quality fish.  It is not uncommon to see numerous limits of bass brought to the scales weighing over 15 pounds, with some limits even eclipsing the 20-pound mark.  Dardanelle offers a variety of cover ranging from rocks, lily pads, vegetation, and wood.  The diverse amounts of fish catching habitat allow teams from all over the country to run water that they are familiar with, and find great success.

The race for Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia will be starting to gain a ton of momentum by this point, as the calendar flips over to the fourth month of the year-long race. Teams will be eligible to earn double points, and the winner of the event will gain 1,000 points for their respective school.  A double points event like this will have a drastic impact on the standings.  For teams that are able to put together two Top 10 finishes, they could add more than 1,900 points to their yearly total.  Lake Dardanelle will also mark the final ACA ran event of the fall before the spring season kicks off in March of 2021.
