Registration to Close for the 2016 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship Presented by Cabela’s May 16

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – As the 2016 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship Presented by Cabela’s draws near, anglers prepare for the fifth trip to Florence, Alabama to fish a world renowned stretch of the Tennessee River, Pickwick Lake, on May 22-27 to crown a Collegiate Bass Fishing National Champion. Anglers must Sign Up for the 2016 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship event before the absolute cutoff date on Monday, May 16.

“Florence, Alabama is excited to host the 2016 BoatUS Collegiate Championship Fishing Tournament for the fifth consecutive year.  Each year hundreds of college anglers from all over the country have fished Pickwick Lake reeling in some incredible bass.  We look forward to showcasing our city to these incredible students again in May,” said Suzie Shoemaker, Sports Marketing and Special Events Director at Florence/Lauderdale Tourism.

Schools that have fished one of the two Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series events prior to the 2016 BoatUS Championship event will be allotted two boats and schools that have fished both of the Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series events prior to the 2016 BoatUS Championship event will be allotted three boats. Each university is guaranteed entry for one two-person team up to the cutoff date of Monday, May 16 at 5:00pm and no team will earn more than three total entries.

Official Practice ends at 3:30pm (No boats allowed on the water past 3:30pm)

Followed by Yamaha’s Angler Appreciation Night
(4pm – 8pm at McFarland Park)

Wednesday, May 25, 2016 

Official Practice until 2:30pm (No boats allowed on the water past 2:30pm)

Followed by Registration and Banquet

(2:30pm – 7pm Shoals Marriott Conference Center)

Day 1 Competition

Safe light (6:30am) – 2:30pm

Day 2 Competition
