Charlie Wright & Logan Plueger from top ranked University of Montevallo are in first following Day 1 action.  The duo weighed in a five fish limit for 21.74 pounds.  That 21 plus pound limit gives them just under a one pound lead over the second place team.

Entering this event with a commanding lead in the race for Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia, the University of Montevallo had a very strong showing on Day 1.  Three Montevallo boats are inside of the Top 10; 1st, 8th, and 9th.  With this being an ACA double points event, Montevallo is in a good position to earn very valuable points with just one month left until a winner is crowned.

Second ranked Auburn University looks to hold their ground in the National Rankings as they too have multiple boats in the Top 10; 5th and 10th.

Sitting in second place following Day 1 of the Pickwick Slam presented by Evolution Fishing is the Blue Mountain Christian University pairing of Rudy Worley & Fisher Overton.  Representing the 11th ranked team in the nation, Worley & Overton brought 20.87 pounds of fish to the scales.  Each of these two anglers have a lot of history and knowledge on this fishery.  Look for them to have a good shot at going out on Sunday and bringing in another quality bag that could push for the lead.

Rounding out the Top 3 are Jackson Kelly & Brayden Pritchard from Central Alabama Community College with 19.71 pounds.
