24th Place – Greenville University

San Antonio, TX (4/21/2020) – As we work our way from 25th up to 1st place in the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia, we will now highlight Greenville University.  Greenville is currently ranked in 24th place with 4,145 points.  The Illinois based team travels the country year-round competing at as many college events as they can.  Their goal each season is to be ranked in the Top 25 for the School of the Year race.

“Being ranked in the Top 25 is something that we shoot for every season.  It is a goal for us because it shows that we have worked well as a team to finish strong in events across the country,” Shane Campbell – Coach, Greenville University.

Greenville is a regular out on the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series.  Year in and year out they show up to almost every event with a full squad ready to take on the challenge of competing with college fishing’s best anglers.  So far this year, they have competed at both the Big Bass Bash and AFTCO Open, earning 570 and 490 points respectively.  The next opportunity for them to earn points will be at the upcoming BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops in just a few short weeks.

“We are just looking forward to fishing a tournament again!  We really enjoy the competition and camaraderie that the Collegiate Bass events provide, and miss not being able to fish events during the pandemic,” added Campbell.

Because they are inside of the Top 25 for the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia, Greenville will qualify to send four boats to Florence, AL and Pickwick Lake for the Championship.  Look for Greenville to do well at this event, as the team is comprised of several upperclassmen that have a ton of experience at this particular tournament.
