Sunday, April 14– 12:15 PM

Camera crews have continued to follow the Top 3 teams from the Day 1 standings for most of today.  The reports from these teams have been slow.

Cason & Brayden from top ranked Carson-Newman have 4 fish for about 11 pounds.

The LSU-Shreveport anglers, William & Brayden, have culled up ever so slightly to be around 10 pounds.

It will be interesting to see how the teams behind them have fared today.  For those that caught 15-17 pounds on Day 1….if they can duplicate that today, they will have a good chance at making a big move up in the standings.

Sunday, April 14– 12:05 PM

Here are a couple photo highlights from on the water at Lake Hartwell for Day 2 of the Hartwell Slam.  This year’s event marks the second time in which the Association of Collegiate Anglers has hosted a major event here in Anderson, SC.  The lake and community are a great host, and Green Pond Landing provides a top notch facility for event takeoff and weigh-ins.

Sunday, April 14 – 6:00 AM

Teams are beginning to arrive at Green Pond Landing!  Weather conditions today are forecasted to set up very similar to what the anglers faced on the first day of competition, with temperatures increasing ever so slightly and maybe a few additional clouds.  Today’s high temperature is projected to be in the mid to low 80’s, with winds out of the W-SW at 10-15 mph.

Anglers found a good deal of success catching bass out on Lake Hartwell during Day 1 of the Hartwell Slam.  At weigh-in, there was mention of bites coming during the morning, mid-day, and in the afternoon.  Along with that, a variety of baits and techniques were mentioned.  From worms to crankbaits, teams were fishing both slow and fast, covering water to find keeper bass…while other teams were slowing down to target bass locked on beds.  Expect more of the same today as these weather and lake conditions continue.

Sunday, April 14 – 3:40 AM

Good Sunday morning from Lake Hartwell in Anderson. SC!  Today marks the final day of tournament competition for the Hartwell Slam.  The full field of boats will take to Lake Hartwell again this morning for the third stop of the 2023-24 season on the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series.

At the conclusion of weigh-in today, the ACA will award $20,000 in prizes and contingencies.  The Top 20 teams will be paid out, as well as a Power-Pole to the Overall Big Bass.  Teams are also competing for valuable double points to count towards the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia.  Schools will be able to earn points for their two highest-finishing teams inside of the Top 150.  First place will receive 1,750 points for their respective school.
