Everything You Need to Know for a New School Year and a New Season

SAN ANTONIO, TX (August 29, 2022) – The Association of Collegiate Anglers would like to welcome student anglers back to school as classes begin and a new school year is underway!  With the start of a new school year comes the start of a new season on the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series.  In this article we are going to provide important information and links to get you up to speed on everything you need to know to compete in ACA ran events and earn valuable points in the race for Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia.

During the 2022-23 season on the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series, the ACA will host four regular season major events and a year-end Championship.  Here is a look at the ACA’s full season schedule, including links to the tournament pages for each event:

Bass Pro Shops Big Bass Bash presented by Berkley

When: September 17-18, 2022

Where: Kentucky Lake – Paris, TN

This is an angler-favorite event that we all look forward to! Big bass, two-day tournament, four weigh-in sessions on Day 1 and three weigh-in sessions on Day 2.   The Top 10 from each session will win prizes, and the Top 20 in Session 3 on Day 2 will be awarded prizes as well. Total payout in prizes and contingencies is valued at over $20,000.

AFTCO Collegiate Bass Open

When: October 8-9, 2022

Where: Lake Dardanelle – Russellville, AR

The AFTCO Collegiate Bass Open is an ACA major event that moved from the Spring to the Fall in 2018 and sported a new format compared to years past. This event drew an elite field of over 400 college anglers last year and will have a drastic impact on the chase for Bass Pro Shops School of the Year Presented by Abu Garcia for the 2022-2023 season.

Bass Pro Shops Big Bass Bash presented by Berkley

When: March 10-11, 2023

Where: Kentucky Lake – Paris, TN

The Association of Collegiate Anglers will return to Kentucky Lake and Paris Landing State Park in March of 2023 to host the Bass Pro Shops Big Bass Bash presented by Berkley.  Following the rescheduled event in the fall, 2023 will be a springtime slugfest boasting a major payout and huge title implications for the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia.

 

Pickwick Slam

When: April 15-16, 2023

Where: Pickwick Lake – Florence, AL

In April, hundreds of the nation’s top collegiate anglers will make the trip to Florence, AL and Pickwick Lake to compete in the 2023 Pickwick Slam.  The Tennessee River is a great fishery to visit this time of year, and the smallmouth bass will play a key role in determining a winner in this ACA double points event.

 

BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops

When: May 25-26, 2023

Where: Lake Hartwell – Anderson, SC

Every year, this event brings 400 of the best collegiate anglers to compete for the National Championship title at the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops. The weeklong activities all lead up to the final showdown on Lake Hartwell with the best of the best competing to be crowned National Champions and a team being named number one in the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia!

Along with a new tournament season for the ACA, a new school year also marks the beginning of a new season in the race for Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia!  Teams from all across the country will compete in numerous events from coast to coast earning valuable points in hopes of finishing the season ranked number one.
