Back to School 101: AFTCO

Lesson 3: AFTCO

We are nearing the halfway point in this educational series as we bring you Lesson 3.  In this lesson of “Back to School 101,” we take a look at AFTCO, the American Fishing Tackle Company.  Like the other two previous brands we’ve covered, AFTCO sponsors a major tournament on the College Series, as well as offers a great discount program.  To go along with those endeavors, AFTCO also has a strong dedication to conservation.  Follow along as we introduce you to everything AFTCO has to offer.

AFTCO Collegiate Bass Open

“The Open,” as it has been known for many years, is one of the longest tenured events on the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series.  It has been fished in both the spring and summer, but 2018 marked the first year that the tournament was fished in the fall of the year.  Set to take place on Lake Dardanelle from October 26-27, 2019, the AFTCO Collegiate Bass Open will be the second ACA event of the season that will count towards the 2019-2020 Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia.  To register for this prestigious event, click here.

AFTCO’s Dedication to Conservation

One of AFTCO’s main initiatives as they continue their expansion into the freshwater market is conservation.  Maintaining and cleaning up natural resources is imperative to ensuring our fisheries are around for years to come.  As young adults, college anglers will witness the impact made from previous generations but can also leave a lasting impression for future generations.

From the Bank Bag Program to the AFTCO Bass Bus Live Release Boat, AFTCO is dedicating a number of resources to conservation.  Each of these programs will be seen in action at various ACA events throughout 2019 and 2020.  Watch to learn more about the programs put in place by AFTCO below.

Discount Program

AFTCO is proud to offer a discount program dedicated to the college angler.  Student anglers competing on the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series are eligible to receive 40% off clothing available on their website.  Their lineup of clothing is designed for the hardcore angler but can also be worn comfortably for a night out on the town.  Submit your info on our website today and receive the aforementioned discount.

Year after year, AFTCO continues their support and dedication to the college angler.  This year will prove to be no exception.  Be sure to sign up for the AFTCO Collegiate Bass Open and remember to do your part in cleaning up and maintaining our natural resources.
