AFTCO Announces Bass Bus Live Release Boat

(March 1, 2019) – AFTCO kicks off their 2019 Conservation First initiatives with the announcement of the Bass Bus Live Release Boat. The recently constructed Bass Bus–built in part with support from Yamaha—will attend key tournaments.

The Bass Bus this past October at Lake Dardanelle during the first-ever AFTCO Collegiate Open. The AFTCO Collegiate Open was the perfect platform to showcase AFTCO’s Conservation First tournaments as today’s collegiate anglers are quickly embracing and driving forward the conservation efforts of tomorrow. As a result, the Bass Bus Live Release Boat experienced a 100% survival rate with zero fish mortality.

A video of the event can be seen here.

As the centerpiece of AFTCO’s Conservation First program, the Bass Bus will be operated by Kelly Power’s experienced release boat technicians at Ulrich Marine. With a planned activation at more than 15 tournaments in 2019, the Bass Bus will be responsible for the healthy release of thousands of bass in key fisheries across the country.

From helping anglers find their favorite fishing shirt to building fishing gloves for all weather conditions, AFTCO believes in producing gear that holds up to the needs and demands of serious fisherman. Just as important is the belief that it is AFTCO’s responsibility to help give back to our shared fisheries. By supporting tournament organizations through programs like the Bass Bus and AFTCO’s broader Conservation First initiatives, AFTCO hopes to do its part to enable the efforts of conservation minded anglers for generations to come. More details of AFTCO’s Conservation First program and additional tournament partners will be announced at this year’s Bassmaster Classic.
