Univ. of Arkansas hosts "ICEMAN  INVITATIONAL"

 By: Jerid Jones

The University of Arkansas will host the 3rd annual “Iceman Invitational” at the historic Beaver Lake located near Rogers, Arkansas on February 7th and 8th 2009. Last year, the "Iceman" hosted 23 teams from 9 different schools from around the nation. Stephen F. Austin claimed first place and the University of Oklahoma earned the title in 2007. "It's a chance for everyone to come fish the beautiful blue waters of the state of Arkansas" says Bodie Drake, Vice President of the ABT. Conditions have been good recently on Beaver. It’s been taking over 18 pounds to win local tournaments lately and fishing has been productive for everyone. Beaver is one of only a few Arkansas lakes that harbors largemouth, spotted, and smallmouth bass species. First place for the event will receive a $1,000 gift card to Sportsman's Warehouse. There will be many more prizes announced at a later date. There is no entry fee! If you are interested in fishing, please email the ABT at bassteam@uark.edu so we can send you additional information like hotels, meetings, and any other additional information for the tournament. We hope to see everyone here in February!
