LONESTAR SPORTS NETWORK TO PRODUCE ONE HOUR SPECIAL FEATURING COLLEGIATE BASS FISHING
Collegiate bass fishing will be showcased in a one hour special presentation produced and televised by the Dallas based LoneStar Sports Network. This special will feature footage gathered both on and off the water and will highlight the stories that have made college bass fishing so successful over the past few years. Camera teams will be on the water to capture fish catches as well as on land documenting special interest stories about what drives these college anglers to compete. Supporters of college fishing from campuses all over will also be featured. The backdrop for this special will be the Association of College Anglers' LoneStar Spring Breakout event scheduled for March 12-14 at Stillhouse Hollow Lake. The LoneStar Spring Breakout is one of the BoatU.S. Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship Series, regional events.
The following universities have already registered for the 2009 LoneStar Spring Breakout: Texas A & M, Baylor, Univ. of Texas, Texas Tech, Stephen F. Austin State, Tarleton State, Midwestern State and Texas A & M - Galveston. Last year, 58 anglers from 12 university fishing clubs as far away as Kentucky, Missouri and Louisiana competed in the inaugural event.
"The Spring Breakout is a really fun, yet competitive one day event that we all enjoy. This behind the scenes look at College Bass Fishing is going to be another great way to create exposure for collegiate anglers and supporters of collegiate bass fishing. To enhance the programming, we're encouraging all anglers to gather video footage on their campuses and on the road as they travel to and from the event." stated Wade Middleton, BoatU.S. Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship Director.
"We are truly proud to be a part of this event. Collegiate Bass Fishing is one of the hottest sporting events in the nation and it is an honor for LoneStar Sports Network to be able to enhance the promotion of the sport." said LoneStar Sports Networks' President and CEO Cedric McLaughlin.
All events featured in the BoatU.S. Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship Series are supported by the Cabela's Collegiate Cup program, Pure Fishing Collegiate Incentive Program and others that reward collegiate anglers for top finishes. All university clubs competing in the LoneStar Spring Breakout event will receive guaranteed entry for 2, two-person teams at the 2009 BoatU.S. Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship event that will be held at Lake Lewisville May 25-29.
