Stearns floats its way to the top
Web site: www.stearnsinc.com
Stearns began developing stylish and comfortable personal flotation devices (PFDs) in the 1960s as an alternative to what the company calls “the orange horse collar preservers” typically used at the time. Stearns has been protecting the safety of anglers ever since, and last year, the company came on board with the BoatU.S. National Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship to place its innovative PFDs in front of collegiate anglers.
“Our job is to protect the safety of these anglers, and our Sospenders(R) Inflatable PFDs are a perfect fit for competitive anglers because they have a low-profile design and don't restrict movement, allowing them to participate safely in a sport they love,” said Mary Snyder, Stearns marketing manager. “We felt that this is a good organization to be part of, and it provides us with a new avenue to put our products in front of a new audience – an avenue that we have been interested in but hadn’t targeted before.”
Snyder said the company’s involvement with the collegiate program has been positive from the start, which is why Stearns chose to step up its sponsorship this year.
"These are active, avid fisherman who are excited about the sport. The energy they create and the idea behind the whole championship are great,” Snyder added. “We are very excited to be a part of it.”
