"Since our earliest days, growing the sport of fishing and building an arena for anglers has always been a priority," commented Randy Hopper, Ranger Boats president. "Programs that help build anglers and character are essential to the sport and the National Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship is a great example. College campuses are cultivating many of the next generation of anglers and we're pleased to be part of such a great opportunity to share time on the water with these young men and women."

Forrest Wood and his wife Nina founded Ranger Boats in 1968 near the clear waters of north Arkansas. In searching for a name, Forrest wanted one that represented the strength, integrity, and unquestionable quality that he was building into his boats. From the legendary lawmen of the Old West to many of our nation's most valiant military heroes, the 'Ranger' name clearly reflects those powerful traits.

Today, Ranger Boats continues to set the standard by which all fishing boats are judged. The company is constantly testing, evaluating and challenging technology with innovation and genuine leadership. That's because, as Wood says, "Winds blow and seasons change, but quality never goes out of style."

Ranger Boats was one of the very first sponsors to sign up when they got word of the new BoatU.S. National Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship. The company has played a major role in making it the premier national college fishing event in short order. On the last tournament day of the championship, the five finalist teams fish from identically rigged Ranger Boats.

"We're proud of the fact that Ranger's involvement in collegiate bass fishing reinforces the same vision Forrest Wood began more than four decades ago," Hopper added. "The enthusiasm these athletes bring to fishing is highly contagious and reminds us all of the excitement inherent to bass fishing. It also emphasizes just how mainstream the sport has become. Following Forrest's well-known commitment to anglers and families, at Ranger Boats, we're confident that time spent fishing creates a strong, responsible and quality citizenry, making it good for this industry and good for our country."
