EGO Nets big one

“With a brand name like EGO, you better have products that lead the market in terms of innovation, design and functionality” said Grant Corbett, chairman of Adventure Products, Inc. a sport fishing manufacturing company that markets a full line of nets under the EGO name. “We do have the right products and we’re here to stay.”

Upon reading an article about the collegiate bass championship, Corbett said he immediately picked up the phone and called Wade Middleton, tournament director for the BoatU.S. National Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship, and told him they wanted to be involved. He went on to explain that his company was founded on the commitment to design and develop innovative products that appeal to, and attract, the next generation.

“We are highly interested in investing in this demographic and believe that every manufacturer in this industry should be too,” he explained. “If we don’t step up and get the younger generation outdoors and involved in fishing, we’re likely to lose them and never get them back.”

EGO Nets do indeed bring a fresh new look to an age-old piece of fishing equipment. Company officials like to call the look and features of their nets an “intelligent” design. For starters, EGO nets float, totally. Plus, there’s the ergonomic grip located just below the hoop to give a secure handhold when it’s time to hoist the catch aboard. Hoop size is perfect and mesh is available in either standard nylon or non-tangle rubber. Construction quality is high so product durability is a given. And with a variety of sizes and lengths to choose from, there’s a model to fit just about every type of fishing style.

The company will be providing a net for each of the teams in the collegiate championship to make sure it’s not a lost fish at the boat that determines who wins or loses. “We like to see anglers have success,” Corbett says, “Success builds confidence. As for where this particular market segment can go with the right plan and its implementation, the sky’s the limit. Collegiate fishing has leveled the sports playing field for this age group. Any student who wants to, can learn how to fish and get a chance at earning national recognition in this sport.”
